What Happens in a Boudoir Photo Shoot?

Preparing for Your Session

Once you decide on which boudoir photography package you want and schedule your session, you'll receive instructions about what to bring to the session and how to prepare. In general, I suggest the following:

Pick out several pieces of lingerie for your session at least a week before hand and make sure that everything fits. We do have a few items you can borrow but most clients bring their own. You can choose anything from lacy lingerie, classic undergarments to long button-down shirts.
We will work with you to book a hair and makeup artist to take the stress off of you for your photoshoot day. Our recommended professionals are comfortable with soft and subtle makeup all the way to full out glam.
Eat healthy meals to avoid bloating and drink water, hydration helps your skin glow.

We'll talk about your session and your clothing ideas in your consultation, but if any time after that you have questions, please feel free to contact me.

Day of Your Session

Wash, shower, and moisturize so your skin is clean and fresh.

You can arrive in your normal clothing and change at the studio. I suggest wearing loose-fitting clothing that won't leave imprints on your skin that may show up in the photos.

I will helps you pose in ways that flatter your body and we'll choose from a wide range of furniture like beds, couches, and chairs to give you a wide variety of looks. We'll spend time laughing, chatting, and capturing your body in its ideal form.

After Your Boudoir Session

After your shoot, I will spend some time choosing the best shots and preparing for your ordering appointment. Most ordering appointments take place 1-2 weeks after your session, but on occasion may be done the day of your appointment.

It is my mission to provide printed wall portraits, books and other beautifully crafted products so that you have a tangible, beautiful reminder to hold and touch after your session. Digital images are available to add to your package.

The goal is to ensure you feel at ease and have an enjoyable experience throughout the session.

Do you share my images?

My number one priority is making sure that clients are comfortable through the whole process! It can be a life changing experience, but it also might be a a step out of your comfort zone! Sometimes clients ask me not to share images. Reasons might include that you are learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world, or that these photos are for your significant other and not for anyone else’s eyes. I will ask about your permission/comfort level at your consultation and then again at your ordering appointment and I will only share what you give consent to. There is never any pressure for you to share your images.

Do you Photoshop my Images?

I have honed a style of editing over years of photographing women that softens imperfections but rarely remove them unless you have a specific reason you want them removed. I want you to honor and love your body for it's shape and features while also taking your images to the next level. We'll have a conversation about any areas that you are concerned about.
